Scrum Alliance has two entry-level certificates; Certified Scrum Master, and Certified Scrum Product Owner. While there is no exam for CSPO, you need to take an online exam for CSM.

In this blog, I am addressing – how to get a perfect score in the CSM exam with correct Scrum Alliance test answers

So if you have attended two days of classroom training on Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and planning to take the certification exam, I believe after the class you have received the exam link. If not get in touch with your CST, as they are the only ones who authorized to submit your data to the Scrum Alliance. For CSM certification preparation, you have 14 days for the first attempt and in case you don’t pass (which is rare if you attend training from a good CST) you have 90 days for the second attempt. So don’t worry you have enough time to prepare and to pass the exam.

A common question that comes in everyone’s mind “how difficult or hard is the certified scrum master exam”

Well, CSM Certification is an easy exam as probably Scrum Alliance’s idea is to test your curiosity and awareness for Agile and Scrum. But, yes the exam would be a mix of scenario-based and directs questions.

Here are a few important points for the CSM exam?

  • After the two days session from a CST, you will get an email from Scrum Alliance inc with the exam link.
  • You need to create an account on the Scrum Alliance website afterward you can start your exam.
  • You only need a computer with a good internet connection; you can take an exam from anywhere (Home or Office laptop)
  • It is an hour-long exam with 50 objective type questions.
  • Breaks are allowed, i.e. you can log out from your exam window whenever you want and come back when ready. But during these breakouts, your one-hour timer would be on, so please take care of one hour duration of the exam.
  • You can answer the question in any order, skip or bookmark later for a review.
  • The passing score is 37 correct answers out of the 50.
  • If you don’t clear in the first attempt, you get one more chance to take the test without paying any retake fee.

If you would like to refer to a scrum master study guide before going to the class then read on how to make maximum out of your CSM Class it should be an easy sail for you.

Now, coming back to the question – how to get the perfect score in the CSM exam? –

  • Study the Scrum Guide once before the class and once again before taking the exam.
  • Take CSM® Mock Tests before going for the actual exam; ask your trainer for the mock tests, if he/she is not able to share, you can check for available mock tests online. iZenBridge Certified Scrum Master program training comes with the support of mock tests. For others, we share an online scrum master program which has mock tests as well.
  • Don’t be impatient while taking the exam.
  • Review the questions and if you have some doubts then research to find the correct answer before submitting
  • Keep a printout of Scrum guide handy while taking the exam.
  • Map the questions as per the Scrum Guide.
  • Submit the test only when you have reviewed all questions once again.
  • Your scorecard will be available immediately on submission.

Scrum Alliance does not provide you an option to take the exam for improving your score. The second chance is only available for those who fail in the first attempt. Also, your score is not going to print on your certificate, so there is no worry if you are planning for a job switch.

I hope you have got answers to your questions about how to get a perfect score in the CSM exam, in case you have any questions – let’s talk further, you can post your questions in the comment box below.
