Why is the SASM Program Still at Version 5.1 When Other Programs Have Upgraded to Version 6.0?

While the Scaled Agile framework has been upgraded to Version 6.0, not all associated course materials have followed suit, including the SASM program, which currently remains at Version 5.1. The Scaled Agile organization anticipates a full SASM upgrade by the end of 2023. However, this shouldn’t deter you from pursuing a SASM certification at Version 6.0; it simply requires an additional step.

The process involves:

1. Enrolling in the currently available SASM program that uses Version 5.1.
2. Taking and passing the exam to earn your SASM certification in Version 5.1.
3. Reviewing the Version upgrade videos provided by Scaled Agile, followed by completing a quiz to upgrade your certification to SAFe SASM 6.0.

Indeed, step three is an extra measure because a direct Version 6.0 course isn’t currently accessible.
